Half of you already know who Mr. Marcus is. The rest of you
can’t admit that you know who he is.
Let’s make it simple then, he’s an award-winning porn star. He can strike a
pose or, er, a stroke that makes hearts swoon and directors pay attention. He’s
been doing sexy stuff for over a decade now and with that kind of experience
comes the ability to write a kick-ass book on sex.
Marcus, a married man and a father, penned The Porn Star Guide to Great Sex with
the intent of helping those who are not yet familiar with the best practices
for their sexy body parts. The manual’s illustrations are quite graphic and
read like an updated, X-rated Kama Sutra with no holds barred.
Want to know how to use your hands and your tongue? Turn to
page 71. Need help figuring out how to incorporate a bar stool into your sex
routine? Read page 123. Want to experiment with spanking? Page 165 kicks off a
lively discussion of how a man can lightly spank his lady without hurting her.
Mr. Marcus took a break from work to tell us a few more
juicy secrets. Here goes.
How exactly do you
have sex like a porn star? Hahaha. I think you use your imagination. And,
you’re comfortable, confident and creative. Obviously I flesh that out in the
book, but that’s the 30-second answer. You have got to be creative.
In order to have sex
like a porn star, do I need to look like one? Look back at the 70s and 80s,
we’ve always represented society. Whatever fashion, whatever form we were going
through, porn was a reflection of that. I think there’s better looking people
in porn now. I remember coming in around the 90s and there wasn’t a lot of really
good-looking girls. But now, the girls look like your neighbors or the girl you
went to school with. Now I think porn stars look more like everybody.
But doesn’t this porn
sex fantasy ruin relationships? If you want your sex life to be like a
movie, and it doesn’t happen, does this book set you up for a fail? You
know movies are made, number one, for entertainment. There’s a lot of acting
going on. There’s makeup. There’s hair. There’s wardrobe and lighting. And on
top of all that there’s acting. I tend to meet a lot of people who love their
wives and have a great sex life. I think it’s because they have an openness or
maybe they’re like the porn stars in that they are confident in what they can
do for each other.
What can I do tonight
to improve my sex life? Play a role, play a character, become somebody else
make it so that you’re both playing a role. That’s what porn does well; it
creates an illusion, suspends belief and lets you believe that the pizza man
did deliver the pizza and the girl who paid for the pizza just happened to be
horny.
How’d you get into
this anyway? Curiosity. I got nine lives. I used to do a lot of blue collar
stuff. I was a truck driver. I delivered furniture. I used my body a lot, but
I’ve always been a thinker. In my mind I had this wild imagination going while
I was driving these trucks around LA and delivering furniture to people’s house
and stuff. Then, I got into porn.
I hear there are porn
conventions? We do have the urban X awards, which are black oriented
awards. There’s a lot more Black performers in the business and a lot more
black driven movies. Before, there was no award show or any kind of way to
recognize them and acknowledge their contribution. We created that. We’re going
on our third year with that. It’s in Los Angeles, in the mecca.
You have two
daughters? Do they know what daddy does for a living? My 14 year old, she’s
probably right around knowing. My oldest has an idea, but she’s so concerned
with her own life, she hasn’t really given me too much, but I know that it’s
coming. In my imagination I’m going crazy thinking that maybe the guys are
going to come at her differently when they learn what I do. But , when you do
your job as a parent, your kids are going ot love you no matter what. The
people who own Hustler and other industry people I know? They end up building
these companies and their kids run them.
And, in my mind, I got my wife there to kind of balance everything out.
I hope I don’t do too much damage.
What’s your wife do?
She’s not in the industry and she never was. No plans, no interest. For the
sake of my family I really would like to go to another level. It’s important
for this book to be successful, it’s important for that [sex] discussion to
begin.
